Protection designed for the Coffs Coast
Vehicles around Coffs Harbour face intense UV exposure, coastal contamination, humidity, road grime, bird droppings and tree sap. Over time, these conditions can reduce gloss, contribute to oxidation and make paintwork harder to maintain.
Proper preparation and suitable protection help preserve the finish while making regular cleaning safer and easier. Incorrect washing is the other half of the story — most of the fine swirl marks visible in direct sunlight come from wash technique, not from the road.
UV exposure
Long, bright days accelerate oxidation and fade, particularly on horizontal panels and older single-stage paint.
Salt and coastal contamination
Airborne salt settles on paint, glass and wheels, and works its way into trim gaps and arch seams.
Water spotting and humidity
Minerals left behind by evaporating water can etch into the clear coat if paint dries in direct sun.
Sap, droppings and road grime
Tree sap and bird droppings are acidic. Left to sit in the heat, they can mark the surface within days.

Straight answers, before you book
What is the difference between paint enhancement and paint correction?
Enhancement is a single-stage machine polish aimed at improving gloss and clarity while reducing lighter marks. Correction is a multi-stage process that targets deeper swirls, oxidation and haze, using the stages your paint can safely take. Enhancement is faster and less expensive; correction goes further and takes longer.
Will paint correction remove every scratch?
No. Correction removes a controlled amount of clear coat, so defects deeper than the clear coat cannot be polished out safely. During the inspection we complete a test section and tell you what is realistically achievable on your paint before any work is booked.
Is ceramic coating scratch-proof?
No, and no honest detailer will tell you otherwise. Ceramic protection improves gloss, chemical resistance and ease of maintenance. It does not prevent stone chips, deep scratches or all physical damage. If impact protection is your priority, paint protection film is the more suitable option.
Does a new car need paint correction?
Sometimes. New vehicles frequently arrive with transport contamination, adhesive residue, water spotting and wash marks from dealership preparation. We inspect the paint under proper lighting and only recommend machine work where it will make a visible difference.
How long will my vehicle be required?
It depends on the service and the vehicle's condition. Maintenance and detailing work is generally same-day, while correction and ceramic protection can require the vehicle for several days because of the preparation involved. You are given a specific timeframe with your written quotation before anything is booked.
How should I wash a protected vehicle?
Use a pH-neutral shampoo, the two-bucket method with grit guards, clean microfibre wash media and a separate wash mitt for wheels. Dry with a clean, plush microfibre towel or filtered blower. Avoid automatic brush washes, and rinse off bird droppings and sap promptly rather than letting them sit.
Can you coat a vehicle outdoors?
No. Ceramic protection requires a controlled, sheltered environment with suitable lighting, stable temperature and no airborne contamination. Coating a vehicle outdoors risks dust inclusion and uneven curing, so all coating work is completed under cover.
Do I need an inspection before booking?
For correction and ceramic protection, yes. Paint condition varies enormously between vehicles and an inspection is what lets us quote accurately instead of guessing. For maintenance and Signature Details, clear photographs are usually sufficient.
